Exercise to improve your balance and help lower your risk of falls
Our falls prevention and better balance group program is designed to reduce your risk of falling and help you feel steadier on your feet each day. Over eight weeks, you’ll take part in exercise sessions that improve your balance, strength, and confidence with walking and everyday movement with a physiotherapist and allied health assistant.
It’s common to lose strength and balance as you get older, but this does not mean you will fall. You don’t need to have had a fall to take part. Our groups are for anyone who has noticed changes with their balance, feels unsteady on their feet, fears falling, or who has had a fall.
Our 8-week programs can help to:
- improve your confidence with walking and everyday movement
- boost awareness of your body in space
- support better posture and body alignment
- improve how you move on different surfaces
- feel steadier on your feet in busy environments
- reduce fear of falling or hesitancy when moving
- connect you with others who share similar goals.
