Recover and get back on track after a heart attack or surgery
If you’ve recently had a heart event or heart surgery, our cardiac rehabilitation program is for you. It’s designed to support your recovery and help you build long-term heart health.
This 8-week program includes a one-on-one assessment with a cardiac rehabilitation nurse and an exercise physiologist to understand your health needs and goals. The group education program and the exercise sessions are held at the Coburg Leisure Centre. The activities will match your fitness level and how you’re feeling. Assessments may be delivered in person or via telehealth.
Each week, you’ll learn about healthy eating, safe ways to exercise, getting back into your normal routine, and handling stress and emotions. We will support you at your own pace. The goal is to help you feel more confident, improve your health, and get back to everyday life.
Our cardiac rehabilitation can help you to:
- recover after a heart event or surgery
- improve your heart health and fitness
- safely build your strength and stamina
- return to work, hobbies and daily routines
- feel more confident about managing your health
