Answers to your common questions about our GP clinics

How do I make an appointment?

Brunswick clinic: You can book an appointment by phone on 1300 056 300 or online at HotDoc.

West Heidelberg clinic: You can book an appointment by phone on 9450 2000.

Please note: We are not currently taking new patients at either clinic.

Do I need a referral?

No, our GP services are available to everyone in the community. Simply make an appointment online or over the phone.

Can I get a referral to a specialist from the GP?

Yes, our GPs can provide referrals to specialists as needed. 

Our Brunswick clinic has pathology onsite, and allied health services, radiology, and a pharmacy are nearby.

Our West Heidelberg clinic has allied health services.

How much does it cost?

We are a Medicare bulk billing practice!

Bulk billing is now available for most appointments for all patients with a valid Medicare card. This includes long and prolonged consultations on weekends and weekdays.

All non-Medicare card holders will be privately billed.

Brunswick and West Heidelberg clinics:

Non-Medicare card holders only Private fees
Standard consult $80.00
Long consult $125.00
Prolonged consult $165.00

Fees are payable at the time of your appointment.

Is bulk-billing available?

Yes, we are a Medicare bulk billing practice!

Bulk billing is now available for most appointments for all patients with a valid Medicare card.

This includes long and prolonged consultations on weekends and weekdays.

All non-Medicare card holders will be privately billed.

Is there street parking available?

Yes.

Brunswick clinic: There is free 2-hour street parking directly in front of the medical centre.

West Heidelberg clinic: There is limited onsite parking and free 2-hour street parking.

Is your facility wheelchair friendly?

Yes, our facilities are wheelchair accessible. Disabled parking spots are available.

Are you open every day?

Our Brunswick medical centre is open 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday. We are closed on Sundays and public holidays.

Our West Heidelberg medical centre is open 5 days a week, Monday to Friday. We are closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

Do you have male and female doctors?

 Yes, both clinics have male and female GPs.

Can I choose my doctor?

Yes, you can ask to see whichever doctor you prefer when you book.

What languages are spoken?

All our GPs speak English and some of them speak other languages, contact us to find out more.

I need more time with my doctor. Can I make a longer consultation?

Yes, you can ask for a long consultation when you book your appointment.

Do I have to do my consultation in person?

For patients who prefer to receive care from the comfort of home, we offer telehealth and phone consults.

I am too ill to attend the clinic. What can I do?

Home visits may be available for patients who are too sick to get to the clinic. Please speak to your doctor or ask our reception staff.

For after-hours medical care: Call the National Home Doctor Service on 13 74 25. 

For emergencies: Please dial 000 for an ambulance.

What about my test results?

Your doctor will normally ask you to make an appointment to discuss test results and follow-up, in person.

What do you do about my right to confidentiality?

Your medical record is a confidential document. Our practices are committed to keeping your personal health information secure at all times. This information is only available to authorised members of staff. Talk to your doctor if you would like a copy of your medical record.

If you would like a copy of our privacy policy, please ask at reception.

What is My Health Record?

Our clinics are registered to participate in the My Health Record system and we can assist you with registration. In a medical emergency, healthcare providers connected to My Health Record can see your health information. This helps them to rapidly provide the best possible care.

How do I give feedback?

We welcome and value your feedback and complaints because they help us understand how we can do better. We will respond to all feedback and complaints as soon as possible and we will respect your privacy.

You can:

  • speak to a staff member
  • fill in a form when you visit
  • call our complaints officer on 9389 2234 (Brunswick) or 9450 2000 (West Heidelberg)
  • send us feedback via our website.
