Supporting children’s emotional wellbeing, behaviour and relationships
If you have any concerns about your child’s emotions, behaviour or social development, child psychology can help. Our child psychologists work with you and your child to understand their needs. We aim to help your child build resilience and feel more secure, while supporting you with practical parenting strategies that promote mental wellbeing – for you and your child.
Our child psychologists can assist with:
- early developmental or mental health concerns
- building healthy relationships, confidence and social skills
- understanding and responding to challenging behaviours
- managing anxiety, worries and strong emotions
- dealing with change, transition or separation
- your child’s emotional wellbeing
- sleep difficulties.
More Information
We see children who:
- have not started school yet
- have mild to moderate developmental concerns
- live or attend early years services in Merri-bek or Banyule.
To access child psychology, you need to be using another Holstep Health service – such as children’s health, counselling, or Integrated Family Services, who you can speak with about making a referral to this service.
For children over 12 years, you can access our counselling service. A referral is not needed.
This service costs less for people with more health, money or social needs. To find out more, please contact us.
