Why join a carer peer support group?
In-person peer support groups help you meet other carers in your local community in a warm and inclusive environment. Our groups are guided by trained facilitators who shape discussions around meaningful topics. They’re designed to fit around you, so we have both face-to-face and online groups running during the year. We also run health and wellbeing events where you can learn about different ways to manage your caring role.
Joining a peer support group can help you:
- Find a safe space to share your experiences with others who understand
- Get support from people on a similar journey
- Build resilience and feel less isolated
- Get practical advice from other carers
- Develop connections with other carers.
Online Community Forum
The Carer Forum is Carer Gateway’s online chat room, open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It’s a safe, anonymous space where you can connect with other carers. Here, you can benefit from interacting with others who face similar challenges in their caring roles.
