As part of National Carers Week in October, First Nations carers came together at the 13th annual Koorie Carers Lunch. Hosted by Holstep Health and Carer Gateway, it was an afternoon filled with dancing, great food and plenty of fun. More than 45 attendees enjoyed a delicious meal and were entertained by none other than Elvis himself (well, his impersonator!).
But the event was about more than just music and laughter. Carers had the opportunity to connect, share stories and spend time with others who truly understand what being a carer is all about.
A big thank you to the Wandarra group for their invaluable support in making this special day possible, and to everyone who joined in the celebration. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
