Throughout National Carers Week (11-17 October), we recognise and celebrate unpaid carers in Victoria – more than 750,000 people!
The Holstep Health Carer Services team, along with our Carer Gateway consortium partners, held a range of events to give carers a well-deserved opportunity for fun and connection.
Holstep Health hosted a special Carers Wellness Day and the 14th annual Koorie Carers Lunch, in collaboration with Wandarra, an Aboriginal community organisation based in Broadmeadows.
Bayside Health treated carers to a day trip to Healesville Sanctuary, including a delicious lunch surrounded by nature. Uniting VicTas hosted Care for a Carer morning teas in Knox and Wangaratta. Grampians Health welcomed carers supporting someone with memory impairment to a Memory Mingle at Yeramba Farmstay. Barwon Health offered a range of activities, including pickleball, Paint & Sip, a young carer dinner and a fancy High Tea.
FamilyCare treated more than 65 carers in Shepparton to a tea party, which included music, dancing, food and trivia. Finally, Bendigo Health spoiled carers with a Murray River paddle steamer cruise and lunch, as well as a private movie screening.
Holstep Health is proud to work collectively with our Carer Gateway partners to ensure every carer can access support and services where they live.
