Youth Foundation was a youth-led project that ran for over 18 years between 2006 and 2024.
Youth Foundation enabled young people across 3081 and Parkville College to make significant changes for themselves and their communities. This involved encouraging young people in the local area to look out for others, stand up for what they believe in, and think creatively.
Our Approach
Through an evidenced-based positive youth development approach, Youth Foundation enabled young people to identify and develop opportunities for change.
Through Youth Foundation projects, participants built key life skills including:
- Self-Awareness
- Self-Esteem
- Self-Efficacy
- Social Competency
- Co-operation
- Communication
- Empathy
- Positive Values
- Literacy
- Numeracy
- Planning and Organisation
Youth Foundation valued and supported young people’s voices, their ideas, their wisdom, their stories, their passions and their creativity, and recognised that when we empower young people to share and realise their ideas, change could be made.
