Support for neurodivergent queer people

Support for neurodivergent queer people

A new program for neurodivergent queer people is supporting social connection, self advocacy, and strategies for success – as defined by you!

The Neuro Queer program has been designed by and for neurodivergent LGBTIQA+ community members. It is a psychosocial support group, and the first of its kind in Merribek.

Held in a safe and welcoming social space, it brings people together with the aim of:

  • connecting with other neurodivergent queer folk within our community
  • learning valuable skills and strategies to support nervous system regulation
  • deepening our understanding of ourselves and what it means to be neurodivergent
  • exploring accommodations and how to self advocate
  • broadening hobbies and interests

The Neuro Queer program is funded by the North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network. Thanks to positive feedback, we have received funding for another year.
