Help with communication and swallowing problems
Our speech pathologists can help you manage challenges with communication, speech, and swallowing. These issues can occur in conditions like stroke, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, head injury or after surgery.
At your first visit, we’ll assess your concerns and help you set meaningful goals. We’ll work with you and your family/caregivers to develop a plan that’s right for your needs. Treatment will include teaching you ways to help you eat, drink, and communicate safely and confidently.
We can help you with:
- speech and language difficulties
- problems with general communication or memory
- difficulties with chewing or food getting stuck in your throat
- swallowing difficulties, such as coughing or choking on food
- voice issues, such as a soft or hoarse voice
- education and support for family members or carers to improve communication.
