How you can partner with us to serve our community

Volunteer Clerkship Program

At West Heidelberg Community Legal (WHCL), we offer a Volunteer Law Clerkship Program to law students in their second last year of study or later. Volunteer law clerks (VLCs) help us operate our busy practice and work alongside our lawyers to deliver legal services to the community.

VLCs are involved in client intake, referral, administration, research and client work across various areas of law.

We ask potential VLCs to commit to volunteering one day per week from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm for at least 12 months.

Donate or make a bequest

Throughout our almost 50-year history, regular donations have helped us provide vital free legal services to the community we serve.

Ongoing support through donations and gifts in wills helps strengthen our future.

Holstep Health (of which WHCLS is a part) is a registered charity under the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) under Item 1 section 30-15 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997. All donations to Holstep Health (for WHCLS) over $2.00 are tax deductible.
