What a fantastic way to kick off National Carers Week! On Saturday, nearly 2,000 people – carers and their families – joined us for our Carer Gateway Family Day at Grazeland. We had an amazing time celebrating Victorian carers with multicultural dance performances, high-flying stilt walkers, live music and endless food stalls. Carers are the unsung heroes of our community and this was the perfect way to honour their hard work and dedication.

The feedback from the event was phenomenal, with one carer sharing “Had a ball! Thank you so much to the team and everyone involved!”
Adam Demirtel, Holstep Health’s Director of Carers, commented, “We came together to honour the commitment, sacrifices, and the incredible work carers do every single day. Most importantly, it was an opportunity for carers to enjoy themselves and take some well-deserved time for fun and connection.”

Thank you to Carer Gateway’s consortium partners who joined us on the day, and a big shoutout to our dedicated team who helped bring the event to life.
We know many carers missed out and we truly would have loved to have welcomed everyone. The good news is, we’re already working on more opportunities to connect and support carers across Victoria. Stay up to date at Carer Support.
National Carers Week is not just a time to recognise carers—it’s also a chance to check in on the carers in your life and ensure they have the support they need.
