There’s only one month left to enter the Young Carer Art Competition – and we need your help to let them know.
We are taking entries until 31 July 2026, so this is their last chance to get involved. It’s a great opportunity to get creative, share their story, and be recognised, with prizes up to $500 in each age category.
This campaign aims to encourage carers under 25 to learn more about the free support available to them. Young carers are particularly vulnerable to the challenges of their caring role, including balancing social, personal, and educational commitments. That’s why access to Carer Gateway’s free support services can make such an important difference.
If you know a young carer aged 25 or under, please encourage them to enter before time runs out.
Who can enter?
The competition is open to young carers aged 25 or under who care for a family member, friend or loved one, even if it’s only for a few hours a week. You must live in the state of Victoria to be eligible. If this applies to someone you know – tell them to get involved!
How to Enter:
- Register with Carer Gateway for free
Call 1800 422 737 (Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm) or fill out this form to start the registration process. Our team will discuss how we can support your caring role. - Submit your artwork
Take a photo of your artwork and email it to [email protected], along with a short paragraph explaining your piece, before July 31st.
How to win a prize?
We’re taking submissions from all young carers, but if you want to be in the running to win a prize you will need to be registered with Carer Gateway (it’s free!).
The competition is open across three age groups:
- 12 and under
- 13–18 years
- 19–25 years
Prizes for each age group:
- 1st prize: $500
- 2nd prize: $250
- 3rd prize: $100

- Competition closes: 31 July 2026
- Winners announced: August 2026
