Today, on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, we were proud to join Ingrid Stitt MP, our valued Elder Abuse Prevention Network partners and community guests to launch the Respecting and Valuing Older People Handbook!
The launch also marked an important milestone for Victoria and the broader sector, with the Primary Prevention of Elder Abuse Framework recognised as the first resource of its kind in Australia. By focusing on the primary prevention of elder abuse, the handbook provides practical guidance for organisations, communities and individuals to promote respect, challenge ageism and create safer environments where older people are valued, included and respected.
As the lead organisation for the Elder Abuse Prevention Network across Melbourne’s North and North West, Holstep Health is committed to working alongside communities, partners and government to prevent elder abuse before it occurs and promote the rights, dignity and wellbeing of older people.
Together, we can create a safer future for older Victorians.
