IDAHOBIT is this Sunday. It is the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. It is a day to recognise discrimination faced by LGBTIQA+ communities and to support inclusive care.
IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia) is held every year on 17 May. This date is important because in 1990 the World Health Organization removed homosexuality from its list of mental illnesses. This was an important step toward equality.
We are proud to support LGBTIQA+ people and communities. We are Rainbow Tick accredited and committed to providing safe, welcoming and inclusive care for everyone.
Many LGBTIQA+ people still face discrimination and barriers when accessing healthcare. This can make it harder for people to get the care they need.
A safe and respectful space is created where everyone feels welcome. Our staff provide care without judgement and support people in a way that meets their needs.
On IDAHOBIT and everyday, we stand with LGBTIQA+ communities and reaffirm our commitment to inclusive and respectful healthcare for all. Learn more.
