Community has always been at the heart of everything we do.
Today we launch our new Consumer and Community Engagement Framework, ‘Your Voices Shaping Our Care’, strengthening our commitment to work with consumers, carers, families and communities to shape our services and programs, and the decisions that matter most.
Why is this important?
This framework provides a roadmap to engagement. We know best health outcomes are achieved when the voices, experiences, ideas, and feedback of our communities help inform the decisions we make. It is not simply about seeking feedback, it is about building genuine partnerships, learning together, and taking meaningful action based on what we hear. Consumers and community insights help us improve services, increase accountability and ensure our care remains responsive to the diverse individuals and communities we serve.
What does the framework do?
The framework:
- places consumer and community voices at the centre of decision-making
- embeds engagement across all levels of what we do
- guides how we can best engage by using different levels and methods
- promotes culturally safe, inclusive and accessible participation
- supports consistent engagement practices across all Holstep Health services.
Everyone has a role to play
Engagement is not the responsibility of one team – it’s part of everyone’s work at Holstep Health. Whether we are delivering care, designing services, developing policy, participating in committees or supporting corporate functions, each of us has a responsibility to ensure we regularly create opportunities for meaningful participation and partnership.
