We work alongside parents, carers and children to provide practical, evidence-informed support that responds to each family’s unique circumstances. We support families to build stronger relationships, improve wellbeing, and create safe, nurturing home environments.
Whether families are looking to strengthen parenting skills, work towards family reunification, or build confidence in caring for a child with complex disability, our team provides tailored support to help achieve positive outcomes. We work closely with other services – like schools, GPs, and hospitals – to help you get the best outcomes.

How we can help
Strengthening Families program can assist families:
- Parenting support and coaching
- Building positive family relationships
- Strengthening communication and problem-solving skills
- Early intervention and family wellbeing support
- Connecting families with community services and supports
Restoring Families program can assist families:
- Reunification planning and support
- Building parenting capacity
- Supporting safe and stable home environments
- Working collaboratively with Child Protection and partner agencies
- Practical strategies to strengthen family relationships
Parenting Children with Complex Disability can help:
- Support for parents and carers of children with complex disability
- Practical strategies to manage daily challenges and behaviours
- Building parenting confidence and resilience
- Connecting families with disability, health and community supports
- Individualised support based on family goals

Families who are expecting a baby or who have children aged 0 – 18 years living in Merri-bek or Hume local government areas.
Families can access these services through:
- Strengthening Families – To get started, visit The Orange Door website or call them on 1800 271 151. They can help and link you to other support services.
- Restoring Families – Referred from Child Protection, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations or Justice system.
